Armstrong Robotics is a startup founded by previously successful entrepreneurs that is developing a new class of consumer robot. We are a seed-stage company that has developed a technical prototype over the last two years. We are seeking software engineers to form our motion planning team. What you’ll do -------------- * Develop motion planning and control algorithms for mobile robots and arms * Evaluate recent robotics research advances, develop proofs of concept for relevant techniques, and implement production-ready versions of successful ideas * Collaborate with other teams, including computer vision and mechanical engineering, to find effective solutions * Operate and test robots to identify opportunities for improvement * Participate in product brainstorms and evaluate the technical complexity of possible features What we’re looking for ---------------------- * Degree in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering or similar field * 2+ years of professional software development or graduate degree * Experience in some or all of the following: + Sampling-based motion planning algorithms like RRT + Trajectory optimization + Robot dynamics and kinematics + Nonlinear programming and convex optimization + Optimal control algorithms + Reinforcement learning * A passion for robotics
