### Job description SUMMARY: Manage the ideation phase, design phase, feedback phase, timelines, and execution of Balcones Distilling production and retail art pipelines. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: A highly organized graphic designer or artist capable of project managing Balcones Distilling’s Retail and Production art asset pipelines as they pertain to label creation, merchandise, event art assets, special projects, collaborations, and other creative endeavors. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: -Hold weekly meetings updating the distillery Creative Team (Head Distiller, Brand Director, Director of Spirits) on the status of art deliverables and art projects -Develop and manage a network of vendors, freelance artists, and design agencies to support Balcones projects. -Develop a standard Balcones art brief that can clearly communicate creative directions from the Creative Team to external vendors, artists, and agencies. -Work closely with our Director of Retail Operations to maintain a pipeline of retail merchandise with designs vetted by our Creative Team and key distillery stakeholders. -Connect with various distillery stakeholders to collaboratively synthesize and translate concepts into a cohesive creative vision for distillery events, labels, merchandise, and art direction. -Work with our Brand Director and Director of Spirits to maintain an annual special release schedule, sourcing the artwork and deliverables required to stay on track. -Create and facilitate a process for design feedback between the Balcones Creative Team and external 3rd parties. -As needed, make edits and revisions to Balcones Adobe Illustrator label files -As needed, use your own graphic design experience to offset our use of external artists -Arrange and direct quarterly lifestyle photoshoots of special release spirits -Track and manage the cost and labor associated with various art deliverables -Manage and maintain a library of Balcones art assets & designs QUALIFICATIONS: -Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a freelance graphic designer or artist, an in-house graphic designer or artist with an established brand, or with a design agency -A Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Art, Graphic Design, or a related field -A portfolio of work showcasing art, graphic design, community art, or art management -Experience in project management and/or team management -Experience working in a collaborative creative environment, taking constructive feedback, and translating that into meaningful revisions -Strong Adobe Suite skillset -Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills -Some interest in whisky, distilled spirits, or wine and beer is a big plus COMPENSATION Competitive wage based on previous work experience and expertise. Looking to fill this role on an onsite full time basis, but willing to explore some part time, contract, and remote work for the right candidate.
