### Job description Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as an Associate Dean for the School of Architecture and Design. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Associate Dean of the School of Architecture and Design will support the Dean in the overall administration of the school with particular attention to student success and affairs, undergraduate programs and design curriculum development, internal and external assessment, and experiential learning. This position requires a collaborative visionary leader to harness the school鈥檚 potential for the growth of its existing programs as well as lead in the development of new programs and initiatives. The successful candidate will assist with accreditation for the professional design degrees, facilitate faculty scholarship initiatives, and represent the school as an active participant on appropriate University committees. The Associate Dean will also serve as a conduit for communication between the Dean鈥檚 office, laboratory staff, and University offices. The position requires a creative and collegial leader who has interpersonal skills that demonstrate a high level of professionalism with the ability to communicate the School鈥檚 mission and vision with faculty, staff, and students. In addition to the administrative duties, the candidate will teach up to two courses per academic year in their area of expertise. Minimum Qualifications 路 Ph.D. or terminal degree in design related fields. 路 Established record as an exceptional teacher and scholar or comparable professional achievement meriting the rank of an associate or full professor 路 3+ years academic administration experience in design-related fields Desired Skills and Qualifications 路 Professional Experience 路 Multidisciplinary design education especially in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or Architecture 路 Established record of working across academic or disciplinary design units and programs 路 Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation standards in the design fields 路 Demonstrated leadership, management, and time-management skills 路 Demonstrated ability to work independently with professional discretion and judgment. 路 Demonstrated support for traditional and emergent technologies and the development of innovative, future-oriented curricula 路 Strong organizational skills to balance multiple and simultaneous priorities 路 Interest in student, faculty, and staff well-being / collegiality 路 Interpersonal skills that indicate a high level of professionalism, initiative, resourcefulness, and personal accountability 路 Written, verbal and visual communication with the ability to communicate effectively with all components of the university and external constituents Experience with working with diverse communities, government agencies, foundations and non-profit organizations, and the ability to acquire/coordinate acquisition of external funding.
