We believe that our differences enable us to be a better team – one that makes better decisions, drives innovation and delivers better business results. **Job Title** Senior Network Engineer As a network engineer on the Data & Services (D&S) Technology team, you’ll hold a valued role within a rapidly growing team inside one of the worlds most successful organizations, working closely with experienced and driven senior engineers to solve problems as a team. Mastercard D&S next generation platform blends industry-leading analytics, advanced software architecture, and the latest web technologies to face these problems. Our software is required to effectively decipher analytically complex insights from these problems, on which businesses base multi-million dollar business decisions. You'll be responsible for building tools and systems that deploy and scale our applications and data in hybrid - cloud and physical - environments. We develop the infrastructure that enables the D&S Platforms team to build, test, deploy and host hundreds of microservices across a fleet of global datacenters. Your work will blend together our current networking infrastructure with next-generation networking solutions that enable micro-segmentation, top-to-bottom observability, intelligent routing, and policy-as-code security compliance. Alongside devops, networking and security engineers, you'll improve reliability, quality and uptime for our enterprise-scale container deployments powered by Kubernetes and Docker. Our systems are administered with infrastructure-as-code with our stack including Chef, Ansible, Terraform and Packer. Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing features. Position responsibilities include: - Shape the design and implementation for the networking components that support our workload -orchestration systems - Work on simplifying network deployment and configuration, with emphasis around everything-as-code and GitOps - Deploy, configure, and monitor high-performance overlay networks for container-based workloads - Bridge traditional networking concepts with Cloud Native network tools like service meshes, service proxies, and API gateways - Engage heavily across teams with infrastructure, operations, networking and security engineers - Be comfortable working with hybrid networking topologies, spanning on-premise in vSphere and cloud-based in Azure - Adept at working within both Linux and Windows Server environments - Work on a mix of legacy and greenfield projects to enable and support full-stack modernization - Research, evaluate and decide on both short-term and long-range solutions to deliver against technical requirements - Be excited to work within a highly-collaborative project team using Agile development practices In addition, the ideal candidate should have: - Expertise with Kubernetes and Docker networking models, including CNI and overlay networks - Experience with service mesh technologies such as OMS, Istio and Linkerd - Working knowledge of network segmentation in overlay networks using IPTables, virtual switches, and Open vSwitch - Familiarity with the CNCF landscape of open-source networking tools - Proficiency with typical cloud security best practices and enterprise security benchmarks such as CIS, NIST, and PCI - Experience with Kubernetes CNI plugins such as Calico and Antrea along with Kubernetes network policy - Familiarity with traditional firewalling devices such as Bluecoat proxies, Checkpoints firewalls, Cisco ASAs, and Azure NSGs Due to COVID-19, most of our employees are working from home.
