### Job description Techtronic Industries Power Equipment is looking for Industrial Designers to join our in-house, creative group. These positions (Entry, Staff, Senior and Lead) will be an integral part of the award-winning, TECHTRONIC DESIGN INTERNATIONAL (TDI) team, located on the newly constructed Innovation Center campus in beautiful Anderson, South Carolina where Power Tools, Outdoor Power Equipment and Floor Care/Cleaning products are all developed. Candidates must have the ability to articulate and envision future products, ultimately delivering superior solutions that solve critical user and stakeholder needs. Industrial Designer responsibilities include – • Design, development, and evolution of new products through the marriage of creative form and functional performance. Designers will think strategically and work tactically to facilitate engaging experiences for users and stakeholders. • Industrial design development is executed through sketching, component architecting/volume layouts, renderings, 3D CAD and physical models. Design proposals are refined based on user needs, brand assessment, business goals and are always reviewed in a cross-functional environment. • Collaboration with cross-functional product management and engineering teams is critical to delivering exceptional designs based on uncovered objectives and design criteria. Designers are expected to participate in brainstorms, project meetings, teleconferences as well as leading critiques with process partners and design peers. • Designers will follow the solution through all pre-production stages, creating specifications for CFM requirements, product graphics and UI. All designers maintain close engagement with process partners to consider cost / schedule / performance trade-offs relating to construction, assembly, etc. Industrial Designer candidates will possess – • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in industrial design • Entry level designers will have prior ID internships or cooperative education work experience; staff level designers will have 3-5 years’ experience; senior level designers will have 5-7 years’ experience; and lead level designers will have 7+ years’ experience • Professional demeanor through a portfolio of industrial design examples • Experience guiding programs through design phases and process milestones • Proficient communication of process through visual thinking, storyboards, mock-ups, sketching, rendering and CAD modeling (preferably Solidworks) • Familiarity with manufacturing/tooling considerations • Ability to work within established visual brand languages • Working knowledge of prototyping techniques and processes including 3D printers, CNC machinery and foam core mock construction • Excellent organizational habits and the ability to communicate procedures and concepts to a wide variety of constituents • Experience guiding and mentoring younger designers • Ability to give valuable (and receive) thoughtful, yet critical, design feedback • Genuine enthusiasm and inherent passion to create great work Techtronic Industries Power Equipment provide these great perks and benefits – • Robust health, dental and vision insurance plans • Generous 401 (K) savings plan • Education assistance • On-site wellness, fitness center, food, and coffee service We require submission of your résumé, cover letter, and a strong portfolio of your best work in product design, CAD modeling, prototype fabrication, and most importantly, your design process.
