Our Analytics Engineer holds genuine care for customer needs that expand beyond pipelines and queries, and into improving our customer’s own KPIs. An Analytics Engineer: * Collaborates with team members to collect business requirements, define successful analytics outcomes, and design data models * Enables ambiguous research questions to be turned into opinionated recommendations for product improvements, parsing the signal from the noise within the data. * Contributes to the Product roadmap through pipelines that enable higher customer retention, lifetime value, and improved network health overall. * Identifies best practices within analytics and disseminates them across the company. Principal Tasks and Accountabilities: * Oversee and upgrade an ecosystem of analysis-friendly datasets, dashboards, and predictive model pipelines, as well as specifically design, develop, and extend dbt use. * Lead data component (from ingestion to reporting) of Product-wide initiatives. * Identify upcoming cross-company data needs and enhances our current data models to support them, through improved transforms, injecting 3rd party sources, or otherwise. * Create leverage across Product, Engineering, and BizOps teams by evangelizing best practices on data model structure and utilizing the pipeline to drive business decisions. Experience: * 5+ years in any of Data space (analyst, scientist, engineer, or equivalent). * Verifiably technical, whether those skills were acquired through higher education (Bachelor/Masters in STEM) or through years of self-directed problem solving with data. * Has built or maintained an analytics stack (ex: dbt, BigQuery/Snowflake, Fivetran/Stich) adjacent to visualization (Mode) built to enable downstream data analysis. * Experienced in statistical software (Python) and deep knowledge of SQL.
