### Job description As an Industrial Designer for Great Neck, you will have a key role in designing appealing and innovative new products for a variety of product lines that include hardware, tools, and accessories. You will merge the ability to analyze production cost, usability, and feasibility into their creative process to design innovative, and aesthetically pleasing products. Requirements: • BA in Industrial Design, or related field required. • 2+ years of related work experience preferred. • Professional portfolio containing products and services that demonstrate a thorough understanding of design thinking principles and sound design strategy • Experience in all pre-production phases of product development • Complete understanding of design for manufacturing with knowledge of capabilities and limitations. Knowledge of wide variety of materials and manufacturing processes. • Exceptional visual communication and presentation skills –, rapid idea visualization, sketching, mockups, and rendering. Confidence to sketch live in brainstorming meetings. • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Adobe CS, KeyShot, and Microsoft Office • Project management skills including advanced prioritization, organization, and attention to detail. • Comfortable to work independently and collaboratively, team player. • Creative problem solving and analytical skills. • Advanced verbal and written communication skills. • Passionate about tools and hardware design, and their application. • Creative thinker with a mind for innovation and an eye for aesthetics Key Responsibilities: • Develop a range of innovative products across multiple brands • Conduct preparatory research, ask questions, and challenge assumptions • Apply each brand’s design aesthetic to new products to achieve a cohesive brand identity to differentiate brands from competition • Ideation and iterative concept generation to vet out multiple solutions. Progressively refine ideas. • Develop concepts using 2D sketches, CAD, Rendering, 3D printing and/or physical models • Apply illustrations and graphics to products. • Create CMF specifications • Examine materials and manufacturing requirements to determine production costs • Work with other specialists to determine if design concepts will fill needs at a reasonable cost • Evaluate product safety, appearance, and function to determine if a design is practical • Review and provide comments on manufacturing drawings and overseas-made prototypes. • Balance and manage multiple projects across various stages of design
