The opportunity We are a well-funded Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) building something that actually moves the needle on the global mental health crisis. We are searching for a Clinical Informaticist to focus on the multimodal clinical data collected through our electronic health record (EHR) software and patient mobile app. In this role, you will help our web and mobile applications generate cutting-edge, personalized insights for psychiatric providers and researchers. While we would like to continue hiring local talent in the SF Bay Area, we are also open to remote candidates within the United States. **What you'll do** * Ensure end to end data integrity within our products * Lead efforts to organize and represent clinical data in the EHR platform and drive the appropriate use of this data for all downstream use cases like Interoperability, RWD, claim creation etc. * Be a domain expert on clinical data, ontologies and vocabularies * Contribute to the maintenance and enhancements of core ontologies and data mappings. * Engage with a variety of teams to help define and implement extensions to existing ontologies and vocabularies supporting internal features and 3rd party content. * Identify and evaluate potential sources of content to enhance the application user experience. * Track (and if necessary, contribute to) emerging health data interchange standards (e.g. CDA, FHIR) and use these standards to inform internal information models. * Track (and if necessary, contribute to) emerging health data vocabulary standards (e.g. LOINC, SNOMED, ICD-10, HCPCS) and implement these vocabularies within the internal content infrastructure. * Become an expert on querying the data stored in the platform. * Contribute critically and creatively to content architecture, rules engine design, ontology development methodology, testing infrastructure. **Requirements** * Masters or PhD in clinical, biomedical or health informatics or a related field, from a leading institution, or equivalent work experience * Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for the following types of health information technologies: EHRs (ONC, HITECH Act), and Healthcare Billing/Practice Management/Value Based Care (CMS), prospective and translational/retrospective clinical research (FDA, CDISC) * Deep professional experience with clinical data software (e.g. EHR or Health Information Exchange) * Demonstrated experience creating or maintaining healthcare information models and ontologies * Deep understanding of HL7, FHIR and other reference information models used for healthcare interoperability * Experience working directly with existing biomedical ontologies (e.g. SNOMED, MeSH, UMLS, CDISC) * Experience working with standard controlled vocabularies like; SNOMED-CT, LOINC, RxNorm, NDC, ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) * Ability to write scripts (e.g. Python, SQL) to perform basic data manipulation * Ability to write terminology specifications and requirements * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on relaying complex information and concepts in more relatable terms * Ability to collaborate closely with a team, or charge forward independently when required * Ability to perform in a fast paced environment with competing priorities **Nice to haves** * Experience working with large biomedical data sets (e.g. FDB, PubMed, NCIt) * Experience with Real World or Observational data sets like; OMOP, FDA Sentinel, PCORnet and i2b2. * Experience developing custom ontologies and knowledge representation solutions for biomedical concepts (e.g. diseases, therapies, etc). * Health tech startup experience, demonstrating that you can thrive in our fast-paced startup environment with competing priorities * Demonstrated ability to work in a consensus-driven way as part of an interdisciplinary team of engineers, clinicians, business technical analysts, information security, devOps, content managers, terminologists, quantitative scientists, data quality scientists, user researchers and designers **Benefits** * Competitive salary and equity package. * 100% employer contribution to healthcare insurance (medical, dental, vision) and 50% contribution for dependents * 401K matching * Unlimited PTO * Flexible working hours to match your style.
