### Job description The School of Art, Design and Art History at James Madison University seeks a dynamic and innovative individual for an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design position to teach a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum in an undergraduate Graphic Design program that includes print, web, interactive, illustration, and emerging media. We seek candidates who wish to participate in a collaborative community that fosters independent thought and creativity, embraces the diversity of cultural expression, and cultivates excellence in the making and understanding of graphic design. Position begins in August 2021. The successful candidate will demonstrate a critical understanding of communication problem solving, innovative conceptual and strategic thinking, comprehensive typography, design theory, media technology, aesthetic execution, design process, and historical/contemporary trends. This individual must have expertise in one or more of the following: UI/UX design, web design, typography, branding, package design, design history, information design, social design, publication design, or motion graphics.
