### Job description The Interaction Design Department at ArtCenter College of Design seeks practicing Interaction Designer (s) for multiple faculty positions in both our BS Interaction Design (IxD) and new online graduate Masters of Design in Interaction degree programs. There are also IxD teaching opportunities in our Extension and Teen Programs. Depending on candidate location these part-time positions may be remote or in-person. Interaction Design programs at ArtCenter prepare design practitioners and interaction designers who are inclusive, ethical and creative. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in contemporary UX/Interaction Design approaches, a strong professional or research-centered portfolio, and a commitment to ethical and inclusive design practices. Applicants must be familiar with current pedagogies and critical issues relating to interaction design, emerging technology, physical computing and qualitative methods in user research. Experience teaching in Interdisciplinary teams is a huge plus. Fluency in one or more of the following specializations is required: UX/IxD methodology Qualitative User Research and UX strategy Visual Interface Design Mixed fidelity rapid prototyping Software design Physical computing AI/ML, AR + VR Faculty teach studio courses in interaction, participate in curriculum development, advise students and to engage in Department development. Facilities available to support teaching include our Immersion Lab, Maker Spaces, Shops, and Hyflex spaces. Part time positions may develop into full time as course load grows.
