**About Jetstack** We are a fast-growing Kubernetes professional services and product company that prides itself with helping startups and enterprises alike in their path to modern cloud-native infrastructure. Jetstack was the original creator of [cert-manager](https://cert-manager.io/), the de-facto standard for managing X.509 certificates in Kubernetes. Cert-manager is downloaded more than 2 million times a day, and is in production with a huge number of enterprises including at companies like Walmart, the Home Office and Autotrader. Recently, Jetstack launched [Jetstack Secure](https://www.jetstack.io/jetstack-secure/), a product that enables enterprises to view and manage their machine identities across Cloud Native Kubernetes and OpenShift environments and build a detailed view of their security posture. **Join our Field Team as a Senior Solutions Engineer!** Our Senior Solution Engineers architect, design and implement Kubernetes-based integrations for a range of clients. They work directly with customers, onsite and remote, and are as comfortable in front of a whiteboard explaining concepts to a customer as at a Linux terminal implementing highly-automated and scripted solutions. They deliver technical training to a wide variety of audiences, educating other engineers in the possibilities they can unlock with cloud native technology. They understand how to integrate and make the most of Kubernetes, designing and implementing solutions using modern, best-of-breed open source and commercial tooling. They have a passion for pushing boundaries, sometimes with novel and experimental ideas, and are self-started and proactive. Solutions Engineers work in a wide range of scenarios, and having a diverse set of skills among the team gives us the flexibility to work with customers on all sorts of interesting problems. The points below show some of the skills and experience we look for, but are not a checklist. Likewise, we'd love to hear from you if you've got other expertise you think could benefit the team. **Useful technology experience****:** * Experience deploying or operating Kubernetes in academic or commercial environments * Familiarity delivering and/or architecting systems on cloud environments such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, etc. * Proficiency using software/DevOps collaboration tools and sustainable ways of working (infrastructure-as-code, source control, continuous integration & delivery systems, pair programming) * Linux containers (Docker, rkt etc) * Comfort working daily with linux and systems programming (i.e. shell, Bash scripting, etc) **As a bonus:** * Deep knowledge in one or more cloud-adjacent solution areas (e.g. service mesh implementation/deployment; PKI and machine identity management; supply chain security; low level Linux administration/programming) * Excellent software development and craft skills; ability to build appropriate software ranging from proof-of-concepts to production-grade applications (we work Golang and Python, but experience in other languages is welcome) **We look for:** * A proven track record of helping customers succeed, ideally in an enterprise setting * Excellent communicators, who can express and translate ideas to technical and non-technical colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. * Ability to work autonomously where required, as well as effectively as part of diverse teams (taking the lead where required) * An appetite for learning, mentoring, and working with cutting edge technology in fast-growing open source communities * Willingness to engage directly with customers in a variety of environments with different operational constraints * Ability to ‘think on your feet’, react appropriately to challenges, and work to resolve uncertain/ambiguous requirements and information * A ‘can do’ attitude with a desire to experiment with solutions * Willingness to travel occasionally - primarily in the UK but also across Europe from time to time Check out our [blog](https://www.jetstack.io/blog/) for tales for some 'tales from the road' written by some of our solutions engineers, and in particular [this article](https://blog.jetstack.io/blog/day-in-the-life/) for a decent impression of what we do day-to-day. **Benefits** As well as working with a great team on an exciting project we also offer a number of benefits: * Conference leave entitlement * Flexible working * A laptop of your choice * 28 days of holiday (not including UK public holidays) * A generous pensions scheme **Location** We are primarily located in the UK, but this role is open to applicants wanting to work remotely from anywhere in Europe. **About Jetstack** Our mission is to build the best team that will guide and support enterprises and start-ups alike in their adoption of Kubernetes. Our deep understanding and real-world experience in a variety of environments (cloud and on-premises), enables us to accelerate customer projects and provide them with confidence in their operations. We are a group of open-minded people who care about the service we provide to our customers, the impact we have on the open source community and how we work better together. We have a diverse team who thrives on interesting projects, resolving real life complex issues and giving back to the community. If you’re as interested in learning and developing as we are then please do apply. Jetstack embraces diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. *Jetstack is a Venafi company.*
