Ambassador Labs is solving interesting problems for cloud native developers in the Kubernetes space and seeking a full time Product Designer to join our team! Through engaging UX that tells a compelling story while simplifying technical concepts, our Product Designers help design and ship beautiful, useful and usable software for developers while working on multi-disciplinary teams. **It's an exciting time to be a designer at Ambassador Labs** * The design team is growing, with a unique opportunity to help define and scale the direction of our design system, but with the support of other designers. * Shipping experiences that mesh cloud products, CLI tools, and even documentation seamlessly is a focus across the organization and the design team is uniquely positioned to deliver on many parts. A clear and approachable UX for our products is critical for our future success. **About the Job** We are looking for a balanced designer who is comfortable with the full stack of design skills and processes. You solve difficult UX problems by taking designs all the way from just an idea to implementation, testing, and beyond. You move easily between sketching concepts to delivering high fidelity assets to the teams you work alongside. Here’s a bit more insight into what your work life will be like at Ambassador Labs * Work alongside engineers, growth teams, and product leaders to express features through clear and engaging UX for our cloud software. * Stay abreast of new design trends, functionalities, best practices, and help optimize and extend our growing Figma design system. * Demonstrate flexibility and jump between solving a difficult UX flow for our web apps to updating a design for a growth campaign. * Ambassador Labs is a remote-friendly company with “pods” in Boston, Portland and Montreal. Our pods are a way of bridging the gap between being 100% remote and working in an office. Eventually, when it is safe to do so, we will have physical offices in each of these locations for team members to go to on a part-time basis to fuel their creativity through brainstorming and watercooler conversations. This is our way of creating the best of both worlds. For now, everyone is 100% remote. **About You** * You’ll have at least three years of real-world experience designing software. * We create software for developers, so being confident designing for a technical user base is key to your success. * Experience working directly with engineering teams is essential. * Familiarity with technical constraints and best practices for modern responsive web/mobile applications. * Expertise with modern design tools (we are big fans of Figma!) and design systems. * You move fast, listen, and adapt. You rapidly incorporate feedback and prioritize collaboration. * More than empathy - you have user-centered approaches to design, invested in user behavior and outcomes * Bonus! Familiarity with html/js/css and not afraid to dig into some code. **How to Apply** We are looking forward to hearing from you. We move quickly and decisively. We don’t need to talk to 20 other candidates to make a decision, so if the fit feels right on both sides, you can be part of the team as soon as next week! The first step is doing a quick video interview, followed by conversation with our People person, the Lead Product Designer and a few of your future team members. We'll talk through your background, your approach to work, and dive into your portfolio. We strongly believe that Ambassador Labs’ success is dependent on hiring a diverse team. Diversity means a broader spectrum of opinions, ways of working and approaches to solving problems; we feel it is critical to helping drive the creativity, innovation and sound decision-making our customers love us for! This is a demanding application process and a significant career move that’s well worth considering. We appreciate you giving us that consideration, and we promise to give you our full attention in return. Talk to you soon!
