As an Intermediate Designer, you will join a talented team of listeners, strategic thinkers, makers, and effective collaborators who love design. Day to Day The Concept Design team meets every morning to review incoming project requests and workload. You will collaborate with the team to review projects, establish design intent and produce sketches, renderings and narratives to convey concepts for client approval and pricing. Designers work on multiple projects, at various stages, at any one time. You will also work closely with the Production Team to ensure feasibility, fine-tuning detail in order to develop precise scope drawings and quotes. Expectations The position requires a motivated, curious and self-directed designer. It will be your responsibility to create clear and accurate deliverables and meet tight deadlines. Job Description Details • Conceptualizes, creates, and develops furniture solutions based on client goals, budget and schedules with a working knowledge of manufacturing processes • Creates necessary drawings and renderings to convey design solutions to Clients and the Production Team through hand sketches, 3DS Max renderings, hand crafted models and prototypes • Sees projects through from initial client request, through design and pricing, and through fabrication and installation • Engages outside vendors to obtain cost and fabrication schedule estimates • Works closely with the Production Team to confirm functionality and manufacturability • Must be willing to learn new details and processes • Provides articulate verbal and written presentations • Possesses good time management skills and is capable of estimating a schedule for deliverables Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, from an accredited school and 2+ years of work experience or combination of education and relevant work experience • Experience designing, drafting, and building furniture and/or millwork • Ability to read and create floor plans • Strong knowledge of 3DS Max, OTOY Octane Render, Excel; AutoCad and Solidworks a plus. • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills • Project management experience Benefits Full range of medical benefits, dental, vision Life Insurance Matching 401K PTO Flexible schedule Employee discounts
